Guiding Teacher Report (Hogetsu)
- 2025 Spring PCP will be “Compassion’s Way: The Dharma of 3 American Zen Ancestors” (Joko Beck, Darlene Cohen, and Blanche Hartman). 3/23/25 to 5/18/25
- Taigen seminars – Upcoming in March, August,and October
- Zen Creatives meeting biweekly Thursday Evenings, going well
- Eishin stepping away for the summer
- Douglas is expecting a grandchild this summer
- PCP Shuso Paula will be the Shuso
- Sewing class Wade has been helping Hogetsu. Three people are sewing and preparing for Jukai
- 2024 YEAA Hogetsu is continuing to contact donors
- U of C Divinity School Class recently visited the temple, well attended
- Hogetsu continues to work with Board president
- Recent Memorials for Alan Senauke, Robert DeYoung
- Recent ceremonies for Sangha members (Wade, Chris Cadman), future ceremonies for Douglas and Eishin
Discussion: Responding to national events and SZBA statement (Hogetsu, Taigen)
- The Board discussed the SZBA statement
- Taigen shared that he signed the statement
- Hogetsu plans to sign the statement as well
- Vote was raised to have the SZBA statement posted on the ADZG website. Approved unanimously
Acting Temple Director (Hogetsu)
- Hogetsu recommends having an acting Temple Director, and she has discussed this with Paula
- Temple Director has been a difficult position for people to do
- Hogetsu needs assistance with the administrative needs of ADZG
- Hogetsu recommends having Paula serve as acting Director while she is Shuso. This would be good for her priest training as an administrator
- The Board discussed this proposition, as well as the financial stipend for Paula.
- Vote was raised to have Paula serve as acting Temple Director during the PCP. Motion passed unanimously
- Paula agreed to serve as acting Temple Director, beginning March 1, 2025

Fundraising & Finance Committee (Paula)
- Paula discussed the need to populate the Fundraising and Finance committees
- Paula suggests having three people who will work with the Board on fundraising campaigns on strategic goals
- One person would specifically search and apply for grants
- One person would work with Hogetsu in contacting prior donors
- One person would work on YEAA and possibly a midyear campaign
- The Board will continue to discuss the development of Fundraising & Finance committees in the future.
Hospitality & Sangha Care Committee (Chris)
- Chris expressed thanks for receiving a card from Hogetsu on behalf of ADZG while at GGF January Intensive
