Meditation Instruction, Zazen, and Children’s Event with Buddha’s Birthday Ceremony

Today our morning program will include as a children’s event our special Buddha’s Birthday Ceremony. This is our annual ceremony, open to all at 10:15, in which we will bathe an image of the baby Shakyamuni Buddha with sweet tea. There will be children’s activities in the kitchen during zazen, then children will join for the Buddha’s Birthday Ceremony.

8:45 am: Meditation Instruction *
9:30 am: Zen Meditation (zazen)
10:05 am: Walking Meditation (kinhin)
10:15 am: Dharma Talk
11:00 am: Temple cleaning and tea *
* Please note that there will be no meditation instruction, temple cleaning or tea on Sundays when we have special sittings. The 9:30 am Zen meditation and 10:15 am Dharma talk are always open to the public even when there is a special meditation event. Consult the calendar for details.
