Zenju is a Dharma teacher in the S.F. Zen Center lineage, a successor of Zenkei Blanche Hartman. Zenju is influenced by Native American and African indigenous traditions, reflected in her new book, The Shamanic Bones of Zen, a very important contribution to the development of American Zen. Among other books she has authored are The Way of Tenderness: Awakening through Race, Sexuality, and Gender, and most recently The Deepest Peace: Contemplations from a Season of Stillness.
